Golden Globes 2016 - Red Carpet Review

Monday, January 11, 2016

Sunday night saw the start of Awards Season in the form of the 73rd Golden Globes. It's always exciting to get a glimpse of who may be dominating the red carpet this year - fashion and winner wise. Here are my favourites for the former...

Visions in White
This year was a strong style showcase, with many nominees going for the classic white dress...with a twist. Alicia Vikander of The Danish Girl went for a Louis Vuitton gown - you can't really tell from pictures, but the sequins are subtly dazzling. Cate Blanchett had a fabulously pale pink (nearly white) Givenchy dress with lots of tassels. The ever-elegant Saoirse Ronan and Lily James went for similar style Grecian gowns.

Golden Girls
These women put the gold in Golden Globes with their metallic shimmering choices. I'm particularly loving Best Actress winner Brie Larson's dress - which kinda reminds me of a Princess Leia vibe!

A Pop of Colour
Jennifer Lawrence, wearing the same shade of red of the Oscars 2014 (or close enough), wowed in custom Dior. Amy Adams, JLo and Kate Winslet equally wow in bright, bold colours. I can't get enough of Jennifer (Lopez)'s yellow dress + berry lip combo.

A Little Something Extra
Kate Bosworth and Jenna Dewan-Tatum shone (literally) in sequins, whilst Zendaya Coleman wore one of my favourite dresses of the night, a Marchesa three-tiered which definitely avoided looking like a wedding cake. Award-winning Lady Gaga was a surprise of the night in super-glam velvet Versace. Doesn't she look like an old-school Hollywood screen siren! Those meat dress days are most certainly over...
