Malìparmi AW16/17 at Milan Fashion Week
Thursday, February 25, 2016
Having spent much of last year
living in Milan, I flew back to London with an even greater appreciation of the finest
fashion. Malìparmi
and its stunning showcase of print and colour was one of my favourites from
Milan Fashion Week last September, so I was gutted to be missing their latest
collection. Luckily, my good friend and fashionista Toli was able to cover it
instead! Their Autumn/Winter 2016/17 collection is the ‘Rocca’ collection, inspired
by modern art which definitely came across in the presentation set-up. Also think
crisp autumn leaves, stylish furniture fittings and country getaways. But delving
further, ‘Rocca’ itself stands for strength, and heart, with the power
signified by the rocks used throughout. Inspired. Plus, there’s
Jacquard fabric perfect for colder months, statement patchwork and tribal
strength elements in the handbags that I don’t think will ever go out of style. Plus the most gorgeous clutch bag with beads and embellishment galore (above). Throw in some shades of green and orange and blue; it may not be summer anymore, but
who said you can’t still be colourful?
